Not so long ago, I concluded that the stories I wanted to read didn’t exist. As a long-time reader of historical fiction, I had very specific things I was looking for. I knew which people and time periods I wanted to read about, I knew whose perspectives I wanted, and I knew exactly what type of narrative I was after. The problem was that as far as I was aware, those stories had not been written.
